Do I need to carry my Coverage Certificate with me at all times when traveling?
Usually, you only need to have your small policyholder card with you. This card shows your Coverage Certificate Number and period of coverage, as well as the international emergency numbers you can contact to get assistance during your trip. However, you might also want to carry with you the carefully-designed jacket which contains, in addition to the policyholder card, your Coverage Certificate and the General Conditions of your policy for reference.
|
What should I do if I suddenly get ill or am victim of an accident?
You should immediately (within 48 hours) contact the appropriate 24-hour alarm center at the numbers indicated on your policyholder card and in the General Conditions of your policy. You will be asked to provide your full name and your Coverage Certificate Number, and to specify the type of assistance you need. If you are not in a position to make the call yourself, any notification made by a close person, the police, the medical center where you are admitted, or any person who intervenes at the time of the event is considered of the same worth.

Although I have been granted coverage for medical expenses incurred following an emergency, I was asked to pay the sum of USD 100. Why is that?
This is because the coverage of medical expenses under the General Conditions of your policy is subject to a deductible (excess) of USD 100. The first USD 100 of your total medical invoice is to be borne by you.
Note: The deductible amount may vary from one policy to another, depending on your age or the scheme of coverage you have chosen.

My flight was delayed and, as a result, I was transferred to another one. What should I do to benefit from compensation under my travel insurance policy?
You need to submit proof of your cancelled flight (certified history of flight from your airline company), to your reseller or directly to MidEast Assistance International in our headquarters in Beirut.

My baggage arrived with some items missing from it. Am I entitled to compensation?
Unfortunately, we only compensate for the loss of baggage while in the custody of the air carrier. In other words, you are only entitled to compensation if your baggage was totally lost and never reached its destination from the time you entrusted it to your air carrier.
|
My baggage was never delivered to me from the time I entrusted it to the airline company. How can I benefit from compensation under my policy?
You need to file a claim before your airline company. Once you receive payment from your airline company, you need to submit proof (usually copy of bank check and official letter from your airline company) to your reseller or directly to MidEast Assistance International.
MidEast Assistance International will pay you the same amount as your airline company, up to a limit of USD 800, pursuant to the General Conditions of your policy.
