MidEast Assistance International was born of the need to provide travel insurance to the members of the Caisse Mutuelle Laïque (CML), a leading Lebanese mutual organization that offers medical care services to more than 25,000 beneficiaries. With the growing numbers of Lebanese traveling abroad, and the introduction of new visa requirements by many foreign embassies imposing the purchase of travel insurance for all visa applications, it gradually developed a sales strategy that extended beyond the CML members to reach the general public and became, as of June 2002, a full-fledged assistance company. With an aggressive direct marketing strategy and a dedicated customer service team, MidEast Assistance International soon became the leader on the Lebanese travel insurance market with its flagship travel assistance product, the Voyageur Plan, achieving annual revenue growth beating all expectations. Drawing on its local success and acquired competencies, the company easily introduced itself to several other countries in the Middle East and North Africa, while at the same time expanding its activities to other areas of the assistance business. Today, MidEast Assistance International offers a range of assistance packages and services that can be adapted to the various needs of businesses and individuals.

The Group

MidEast AssistanceInternational is part of an economic interest grouping including several entities, all operating under the umbrella of the CML:

1. Caisse Mutuelle Laïque (CML) — Created in 1996, CML is a non-profit organization offering access to various healthcare services and a member of the world-known ICMIF and AIM organizations.

2. Mutual Care s.a.l. (MC) — Established in 1998, MC specializes in health portfolio management: subscriptions, claim handling, cost control and billing audit of invoices issued by health care providers (hospitals, laboratories, radiology centers, etc.)

3. Centre de Soins Dentaires (CSD) — The CSD is a dental care center set up in 1998 by a group of dentists. It provides dental care for CML members and the general public.

4. Labtest is a laboratory created in 2000 that offers a range of outpatient test services to the CML members and the general public.

5. L’Horizon s.a.l. is an insurance company acquired in 2003 that complements the services offered by the CML, by providing other services such as fire insurance, car insurance, and marine insurance.
